Plus Casa is a two-unit accessory dwelling project by Qastic in Los Angeles. Within an approximately 1,500-square-foot footprint, two vaulted volumes are stacked to create separate homes that can also be used together as one dwelling.
The design draws on the pitched roofs common in the surrounding neighborhood. By extending that familiar shape into a continuous vault, Plus Casa gives each compact unit a generous interior volume while retaining the roof’s practical role in shedding water.

Each home has its own entrance and outdoor space. Four balconies connect the interiors to different views and orientations: the upper unit looks toward the Los Angeles skyline, while the lower unit relates more closely to the trees and planted edges of the site. The arrangement gives residents independence today and allows the building to respond to changing household needs over time.

A steel frame supports an exterior clad in white-painted galvanized PBR metal panels. Inside, timber flooring and drywall provide a straightforward material palette. Through its compact footprint, adaptable layout, and distinctive roof form, Plus LUS Casa explores how a small residential building can accommodate more than one way of living.
