It was 1912 when Rosa Riccioni presented the first project for the construction of a cowshed within the land she owned "outside Porta Portese in via Portuense, Fornetto".

The hamlet was composed of a central body used as a cowshed, a shop facing the street for the sale of milk, a series of side bodies for storing carts and the main house on the upper floor.

The activity of the cow farm lasted until the 1950s, in the following years the complex hosted artisan workshops and was finally left disused.

Thanks to the will of the heirs, since 2011 the complex has been entirely recovered by reconverting the spaces into a new cultural formula. The rural context has given space to a cultural district where studios and laboratories of different nature are based, united by the desire to share new experiences and projects offering professionalism and experience in every field: art, architecture, design, visual, food design, cinema and craftsmanship.

Recovery and conservation is the key word of the architectural intervention, both from the point of view of the container and from the point of view of the interiors, where possible. For example, the recovery of the stable, which has now become the headquarters of Label201, a space for art and an architecture studio.

In fact, the structure was recovered, preserving volumes and surfaces, allowing the layers of paint that over time overlapped on the walls to interact with contemporary materials and surfaces.
