Prior, Thornbury works to create a dialogue between the architectural and culinary experience through thoughtful design. Complementing a “paddock-to-plate” principle, an open kitchen celebrates this process, and is a pivotal aspect to the space. The main bar is constructed with clay bricks and paired with a pigmented concrete bench, sitting upon brick-paved floors and surrounded by fleshy apricot brick walls. A selected palette of warm, rich materials is juxtaposed with the black steel elements, such as the wood box and fireplace; sitting on a masonry plinth, they act as a focal point during the colder months.
