This particular masterplan study focuses on the development of a dynamic, mixed-use scheme that seamlessly integrates all architectural programmes - residential, commercial, education, arts and public space - along with a landmark building within the urban fabric into a unified whole.
The residential programme is expressed through multiple and diverse housing typologies to add variety and complexity and in extent support the local community complemented by the commercial programme including retail, office and leisure amenitities at the lower levels. The education and arts programme is expressed through unique buildings, in terms of form and organisation, that will, in extent, engage in a “dialogue” with the public realm.
The focal point of the development is the articulated landmark tower, a sustainable structure that adds “depth” to the existing skyline. The overall design for the public spaces is is based on creating green circulation corridors and various pedestrian routes to enhance connectivity and the idea of place making, to add richness and quality for “urban living”.
