Project Overview
Supersight is proud to unveil the new office space of 25000 sqft for Remfry & Sagar at Remfry House, Millennium Plaza, Gurugram, Haryana-122009. Supersight is a Delhi based spatial design firm that specializes in high-end value driven corporate interiors.
Challenges & Opportunities
A name of such large stature and heritage of nearly 200 years deserved a novel solution backed by a strong narrative. A space that is humble, grounded in reality and bold yet elegant. Remfry House being one of the first landmarks in the vicinity came with its challenges and opportunities - challenges in terms of structure and services; opportunity in terms of well-aged architectural character.
Legacy at its core
Throughout the course of this project, a holistic principle was “to derive the design from the past and rethink for the future”. Careful attention was paid to ensure that the design of the space builds on the 200-year-old legacy of Remfry and Sagar rather than follow a utopian design lacking character and connection. The spatial planning is very functional, bold with an open plan environment.
A legacy palette inspired by the nature and character of the legal practice forms the basis of the colour and materials selection. More than 50+ materials were chosen very carefully to ensure their complementary nature created an environment of subtle balance between efficiency and legacy. The resultant is a vibrant and elegant atmosphere where natural materials lend colour and warmth.
Concept
“Remfry House – Timeless Excellence and Authority”
The concept design for "Remfry House" depicts history and dynamism. A deeper suggestion of concept means that the pioneering spirit and pursuit of excellence that defined its beginnings embodies the present vision that aims to maintain the firm’s position at the pinnacle of legal practice. The architecture, objects and atmosphere echo these core values – not loudly but with subtlety and conviction. The design intends to depict permanence of excellence and quiet authority.
The Silver Lining
Materials such as statement marble, natural veneers, locally sourced biophilia, handmade artworks by artisans located across India using traditional embroidery techniques, handmade rugs, woodwool and terracotta are highlights that help bind a cohesive look and feel. Terracotta leaves its imprints in every space connecting the user with an earthy and grounded feeling as one moves through the space.
Endnote
Walking through its corridors feels like stepping into a space where the past melds with the present. It holds the "weight" of thousands of documents and the legacies of people who have shaped India’s legal landscape. Yet its modern and airy form anchors it in the present. One can feel permanence that runs contemporaneous with the Firm’s leading position in modern times and its vision that strives to broaden its legacy of excellence as it reaches into tomorrow.
Sunbeams rest like old friends on window ledges, and the air hums softly with the energy of teamwork. Its walls and corridors record those who passed and function as conduits between the past and the future. Here, time unfolds like pages of a book, each leaf central to the ambitious vision of crafting the story of intellectual property law.
