After realizing that they did not want to undertake a major renovation in their old apartment, this family opted to acquire a larger one, bought in the blueprint, but which would only be ready in four years. In the meantime, they hired the office to think not only about the renovation of the new apartment, but also about the revitalization of the old one, through the purchase of furniture and decoration. Such pieces had the challenge of providing timeless and elegant solutions that would work for both the old and the new apartment.
The renovation of this new apartment bet on wooden panels and cement texture on the walls, which warm the environment, bringing the affective side to the house. Therefore, we have from the entrance hall all covered in wood (including the elevator door), in addition to the living room wall, which gives access to the intimate area and the TV room panel, which at the same time integrates the corridor and gives the option of privacy to the residents.
The concept of the environment extends to integrated, fluid, spacious, cozy and current spaces, without sticking to fads. The kitchen, which at times integrates with the living rooms and the gourmet space, and at times is closed, brings the mixture of the modern in the glass of the cabinets, steel, shades of gray and black, with the warmth of cement on the walls, lunch in rustic peroba wood and straw on the back of the chairs.
Environments with a contemporary and affective decoration continue throughout the apartment: the combination of natural materials such as wood, stone, cement, leather, linen and wool, harmonize with glass, steel, technological doors and curtains, warm colors like caramels, browns and yellows contrast with gray tones in various gradations.
In furniture, we look for timelessness, elegance and good design. The Tião e Cantu chairs, by Sérgio Rodrigues, the Verônica armchair by Jorge Zalszupin, the Vila Rica and Cacos sideboards by Etel Carmona, the Pitu chaise by Aristeu Pires, and the Crown chandelier - current interpretation of the old chandeliers for candles - designed by two young Germans Jürgen Laub and Markus Jehs, and marketed by La Lampe. Marie Camille's Tibetan rug features a timeless geometric design.
Good works of art: Amilcar de Castro, Sued, Rolf Behn, Isaura Penna, Adriana Gallinari, Barsotti, Roberto Bethonico and others enrich the decor. The TV room is paneled and has a wooden bookcase covering two of the walls. The caramel leather sofa makes the environment warmer and cozy.
In the Daughter's Room, we chose shades of white and nude, with feminine touches of antique pink and lilac, as well as wooden details. The headboard in the corner and the bench and shelf are suspended to give the bedroom space more fluidity.
In the son's room, the idea was not only to use colors referring to his favorite team, Atlético-MG. The bed, designed by the architect, is suspended and functions as a large chaise. The servant, in black lacquer and steel base, has a built-in drawer. The workbench has a free chest of drawers and a hanging shelf that makes the room more free. The closed cabinet suspended in gray lacquer is used to store objects.
In the double bedroom, we continued with the same philosophy, with furniture that continued to seduce over time, with an Artefato bed, Elisa Atheniense leather headboard and servants in peroba from the field, designed by the architect. In addition, we have Etel Carmona's Jatobá bookseller and Pencil bank, produced by Etel Interiores. The color combination of the bedroom seeks to bring tranquility and rest.
