A large meeting room that also functions as a chapel, should expand an exercise house located in a river canyon in the Maule mountain.
It seems unwise to extend a house with this program, increasing even more the isolated condition with respect to the landscape, so it is determined to separate this volume and locate it, between the ravine and a clearing of the forest, where there are several trails that cross the place.
It creates an enclosure that through basic enclosure devices, simply achieves an endless number of spatial instances and relationships with the environment, which undoubtedly is the protagonist of the project.
The fundamental operation of the volume refers to the design of a tubular space perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the river canyon, which allows to be flooded by the landscape, sounds, light, air, smells that welcome it ... The result is fractioned to define the different instances which qualify, from their height, their character.
To the elementary space of the project, space devices that complement and connect the volume with the place adhere at each of its ends, as an extension. It is thus that the access is marked by a portico-corridor of a height greater than the volume, that somehow tries to capture and to contain the indómita scale of the immediate surroundings. On the other hand the zone of the altar extends by means of a balcony on the ravine trying that the same is not the end and happens to be part of a space continuum that is lost in the natural context beyond the river in the hills opposite, where a cross has been arranged so as to further enhance this condition.
