The architectonic solution is very much based on the intension of preserving an identity that the museum/foundation has been fomenting for more than 60 years. Taken into consideration the strong identity of the built and environmental heritage on the Joenniemi peninsula, our solution focused on measuring just the right amount of "presence" in order to keep an identity/image associated to the historic and natural values of the site, without loosing the assets that a contemporary intervention could add to the new whole.
