This head office that include a large research institution is located in Kyoto, Japan. The client requested a building of the powerful symbolic appearance and the space where it was wide, and had high flexibility without the pillar. The exterior facade that is glass-fiber reinforced-concrete panels are gradually falling down with length of 80m emphasize continuity and movement. We inserted the glass of 19 millimeters of thickness between each panel so as to feel the undulation of the wall with light visually. The structure enabled space without the pillar by adopting the trass structure of the steel frame. The office is mainly on the third floor including several gardens. Each room and the inner corridor has large windows facing to this gardens that gives the pictorial Japanese garden's vision and fills the space with full of light.
