Showcase Gig Office

DRAFT Inc. as Architects

This is the new office of Showcase Gig, a company which develops mobile apps and ordering payment service "O:der”. The design of this office is centered on the concept of NEO VINTAGE MIX; it meshes the retro elements of the Aoyama Building with the cutting-edge vibe of this dynamic tech company, to embody a vintage style with a modern twist.

With its collection of leather furniture and brass lightings, the common space is a versatile space that can be used for conferences, events, and also as a workspace.  The partition was narrow and elongated, and it was not possible to create additional headroom in the ceiling, but we have addressed this challenge by using decorative pillars and black paints on the ceiling, thereby visually expanding the space in the longitudinal direction.

Apart from achieving a feeling of expansiveness within the space, much emphasis was also placed in creating snugness within the confined space. This is also the reason why the conference room in the back was positioned like a floating island. The retro glass blocks and bookshelves double as dividers that create a calming "shelter".  Here, we have designed an office which has a neo-vintage outlook throughout, right down to the finest details, yet is comfortable to work in.
