Taking up a full city block, Sixth&Blanco will feature a five-story, mass timber building, designed by Swiss architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron in collaboration with executive architect Page Southerland Page. Known for their signature projects such as the Tate Modern in London and the Elbphilharmonie concert hall in Hamburg, this will be the studio’s Herzog & de Meuron’s first foray in Texas. Herzog & de Meuron will introduce an architecture vernacular that takes key ingredients from the site’s surrounding context and fills it with a continuous horizontal wooden structure that prominently features materials aligned with Austin’s historic fabric and unique sense of place.

Sixth&Blanco marks the first mixed-use development by McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality, a partnership between Larry McGuire, Tom Moorman and Liz Lambert. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Austin, MML Hospitality has built a collection of popular restaurants, hotels and retail brands across Austin, New Orleans and beyond, and Sixth&Blanco typifies the company’s excellence in sophisticated design, honest materials, and world-class hospitality.

Sixth&Blanco will feature only 10 private homes arranged on the upper two levels of the five-story building. At over 4,600 square feet, each home is uniquely designed to take advantage of the project’s location and will feature fantastic views across Austin. The project has nine two-story homes accessible via a circular staircase and one single floor home, ranging from three to four bedrooms/bathrooms.

MML Hospitality collaborated closely with Herzog & de Meuron to guarantee that each residence provides a truly unique living experience unparalleled in the Austin real estate market. These homes epitomize the pinnacle of stylish luxury living in Austin, boasting abundant natural light, exposed wood, and extensive use of organic materials sourced from Texas, Mexico, and the broader Southwest region. These generous applications of natural materials imbue the interiors with a warm and earthy character, creating an open and inviting atmosphere ideally suited for the Austin climate.

Connectivity with the outdoors is achieved through various elements, including a lushly planted entry court, strategically placed light wells, and multiple spacious private terraces. Additionally, each residence boasts its own private cocktail pool.
