Project Description
Refurbishment and alterations to a Victorian terraced house in London.
What was the brief?
Relocating from New Zealand to London, UK, our Kiwi clients missed sunlight and they missed daylight! So, the brief was to bring light and a sense of openness to the living spaces but we also wanted to make beautiful the relationship between the small extension and the existing building.
What were the key challenges?
To use structural glass to achieve a ‘slot’ effect between old and new required careful detailing and sourcing to give the desired effect.
What materials did you choose and why?
White render and frameless glass were the tools that allowed us to put old and new together in a harmonious way.
