Opus 4 as Architects

Opus 4 was engaged by anti-money laundering platform, Smart Search, located in Ilkley, England. Smart Search is the leading online provider of anti-money laundering services in the UK. Their unique platform combines business and individual searches for the UK and international markets, with verification checks taking no more than 30 seconds.

After a period of rapid expansion, they had outgrown their Guiseley office. They identified two floors at Mayfield House in the market town of Ilkley and took the opportunity to treat the move as a blank canvas.

With plans to more than double their workforce, coupled with a longer commute for many existing staff, attracting and retaining people became the main priority. After meeting no less than nine specialists, SmartSearch selected Opus 4 as their workspace partner.

A detailed client engagement and design phase, included workplace consultancy with all departments, scouting trips to Clerkenwell and detailed product trials. The resulting design included a stunning 4,500 sq ft third space, with a gaming area and gymnasium, numerous collaboration and agile working spaces and some eclectic furniture features, such as Spacestor‘s Railway carriages and Senator Special Projects’ Hive.
