SmartCentres' new Montreal headquarters is located in the heart of downtown, in a space where materials, light, and acoustics converge to create a warm, fluid, and contemporary working environment. The layout is based on a precise approach, where each element contributes to a controlled and coherent experience.

The project is organized around a sculpted central core, wrapped in dark wood, which structures the suite and brings together a series of integrated uses: benches, storage, alcoves, transition spaces, and a copy area. This volume acts as the backbone of the layout and extends to the reception area, where it welcomes visitors with a discreet cloakroom, a coffee corner, and a space dedicated to corporate awards. The subtly used rounded lines soften the circulation and create a fluid signature throughout the project.

The curve becomes a spatial gesture. The ends of the workstations take the form of planters or collaborative counters, encouraging spontaneous exchanges. The electrical supply, descending from the ceiling, transforms into a sequence of cylindrical posts that punctuate the space and reinforce its architectural dimension.

Upon arrival, the fully glazed conference room opens up the space to the panorama. The use of transparent partitions preserves visual continuity, generously diffuses natural light, and ensures an open reading of the floor plan, even in the presence of closed offices and rooms. The pathways are defined by a subtly orchestrated interplay of textures and hues, accompanied by lines of light that structure the experience.

The dining room, located in a privileged corner, offers a convivial space bathed in light. A warm red ceiling, a nod to SmartCentres' identity, envelops this versatile environment, which is used for meals as well as informal work and internal events. The lighting is carefully choreographed to modulate the atmosphere according to use.

Acoustics is one of the hallmarks of the project. At the reception area, a wood and felt wall provides visual continuity while absorbing sound. In the large conference room, a ceiling sculpted with three-dimensional modules optimizes auditory comfort. The executive room echoes these strategies, enhanced by a recessed ceiling softened by indirect lighting. 

With its attention to detail, sensitivity to materials, and integrated approach, this project offers a refined vision of the contemporary workplace: a fluid, bright, and precise space designed to support both performance and well-being.
