A small building for a small community in the village of Cornido (Carnota). Just a few families and seniors enjoy of a privileged place due to its position in the landscape, but in which there is no commerce, church or services. Nobody works there anymore and there is a need of a place to meet that grants them of identity. Neighbors meeting point, classes, leisure and celebration. Build the minimun, without too much impact.
The steepest slope of the terrain is chosen, which is, the best oriented too. South and estuary. Although it levitates and does not touch the ground, the building is as high as the slope, so it keeps a double entrance: lower, from the traditional path, and upper, from the parking lot. Despite its square plan and flat roof (cube), certain decisions were taken to make it more complex and define parts. A "handle", the stairs, anchors it to the slope. And a service volume, with the entrance, toilet, kitchen and warehouse, shapes a wall against the ground.
Opposite, an horizontal window, the only piece that glances, that is also a table and seat. The roof, a terrace-garden with a place to chill, a small square with a soft ramp to reach it. Below, the meadow leads to the main room. Opening and access to the field. Like one traditional granary more, it appears in the profile of the village. But also, as a public space, it serves as base and surface.
