Located in South Park Slope, in Brooklyn, New York, the home is a 3-story new construction townhouse with approx. 2,060 square feet of interior living space, with a 540 square foot backyard. There were are few design challenges: The client and her family all suffer from asthma, so all, if not most, of the products selected needed to be green guard or clean air certified. As such, we sourced from vendors who could meet these needs.

The client wanted to use one paint color throughout the home with no specialty finishes. As a result, we selected one color that would work with the various color schemes. The second floor living space was very long and the client desired quite a bit of book storage for their large collection of film, music and art books. The team of Claire Hung Design selected millwork and furniture that were in complementary tones to the paint and worked with the pre-existing finishes — wood flooring, kitchen cabinetry, tile and countertops. Claire Hung was inspired by the client’s art and the playfulness they wanted to infuse into the home for their young daughters. Together with the homeowner's love of blue, the interior designer created a thoughtfully warm and balanced space that melded the existing finishes with new.
