A project starts with a client that owns a specific land and intends to maximize its usage and market value; and building regulations, defined by local authorities that dictates the buildable boundaries for a new construction to grow.

Stone Matters is born with these constrains side to side, as it tries to fulfill the client's needs by increasing the square footage in a tuneful design.
​
The residential building has two faces that blend into an unique gesture: a more monolithic one that faces the street side, with more mass and less windows, reacting to the street sound pollution; and a lively decomposition of the building mass into terraces and open spaces, that allow the residents to cherish the outdoor areas and its direct contact with nature.
​
The terraces are featured with shading timber elements that boost the urge for plants and nature to grow and get closer to the living spaces. Plants and vegetation will bring shadow in the summertime and let the sun shine through, inside the apartments in the winter time, when its lower. A passive ecological approach, featuring biodiversity and comfort for the new residents.
