This Flagship location at 496 Broadway is larger and stocks more merchandise than the standard Sunglass Hut store. Inspired by the original meaning of the word Flagship, we designed a series of fins that emulate framing techniques used in shipbuilding. The floor-to-ceiling fins were designed with varied proportions to create a huge undulating gesture on the south wall of the space. The fins contain a system for displaying sunglasses that includes shelves, drawers and niches for promotional signage. Exposed painted white brick peaks out between the fins giving the visitor the feeling of inhabiting the internal structure.
