Sushi Raku

Honoring the tenets of order and simplicity traditionally associated with Eastern philosophy, Sushi Raku also looks toward the future.

The 6,500 square foot space is divided into 3 separate but visually linked spaces: the sushi bar, main dining room, and bar/lounge. The material palette, consisting of white oak, raw steel, painted walls and thick red rope, is present throughout and expressed uniquely in each room.

The sushi bar, with its large frameless windows, high ceilings and warm-white color, connects with the adjacent streetscape and offers an energetic public experience complimented by the welcome of sushi chefs.

At the main dining room, playful prints drape the booth seats. Overhead, heavy wood and steel clad light boxes are softened with a quilted interior and warm lighting. The energy of the restaurant is muted so diners can enjoy a more intimate experience.

Thick red rope drapes the bar and lounge, opening up at the storefront while simultaneously allowing downtown views and placing the space on display. At the interior hall, the rope is gathered and looped to create a dense screen.

By providing sophisticated and comfortable design that is as stylish as its clientele, Sushi Raku establishes the direction of Houston restaurants.
