The Synthetic Cavern is an interior design project where modernist orthodoxy meets the purity and naturalism of a hypothetical contemporary cave.
The large pre-existing staircase that is entrusted with the centrality of the totally open ground floor, is revisited with sinuous lines and with a dry garden at the base.
The bioethanol fireplace next to the large central sofa recreates the typical igneous bed, an essential element of cave architecture, re-synthesized in a contemporary key.
The columns of the house are deliberately covered with minimal and dark containment coverings, almost reminiscent of the monolithic buttresses of caves.
All these unique design features open the view to the large garden at the exclusive service of the house, thanks to the creation of new large window openings.
The furnishings and light design are designed to balance the naturalistic character of the staircase, giving the interior a formal cleanliness and an important lighting characterization.
The bedroom and the bathroom, all black, also reflect the stylization of the cave, here too the fire grafted to the wall as well as the furnishings with a monolithic design, made such also thanks to the use of resins, immerse the users of the Synthetic Cavern in an exclusive and primordial private space, one of a kind.
