Taboola India Headquarters, Gurgaon

Sensory-balanced workplace for a high-velocity AdTech team. 35,000 sq. ft. headquarters expansion organised around acoustic-first design, neighbourhood planning, and a culturally grounded brand identity.

The existing Taboola India office suffered from systemic acoustic failure — poor insulation, undifferentiated open planning, and material choices that amplified rather than managed ambient sound. The expansion brief identified acoustic performance as the primary design constraint, while simultaneously requiring a workplace that could scale with rapid headcount growth, function as a talent magnet for a young workforce, and express Taboola's global brand identity with genuine local cultural resonance.

The neighbourhood-and-hub model replaces the conventional open plan as the organising principle. A central cafeteria - designed as both social infrastructure and high-tech townhall space - anchors the floor plate. Focused work neighbourhoods radiate outward, each defined by its own spatial identity and equipped with immediate access to huddle rooms and collaboration spaces at a 1:7 meeting-to-workstation ratio. This ratio is the spatial mechanism through which the acoustic strategy operates: by reducing the distance between individual workstations and enclosed collaboration spaces, the design eliminates the noise spillover generated when teams default to open-plan discussion for lack of available rooms.

Workstations are planned entirely along the perimeter glazing, displacing built-up spaces to the core. This single planning decision delivers 100% natural daylight access across the workforce and keeps the acoustic envelope of enclosed spaces consolidated away from primary work areas.

Acoustic performance is treated as a layered system rather than a single-surface intervention. Double-glazed partitions manage the primary separation between enclosed and open zones. Sound-deadening membranes are specified at structural junctions to interrupt flanking transmission. Eco-acoustic panels and ceiling clouds are distributed across open work areas, contributing both decibel reduction and material warmth. The system is designed to absorb the ambient energy of a high-velocity tech team without suppressing it - managing the acoustic environment at the level of the floor plate rather than the individual workstation.

The cultural identity of the space operates at two registers simultaneously. Taboola's global brand language - tech-forward, high-energy, precise - is maintained throughout in palette, specification, and spatial organisation. Beneath it, a layer of specific Indian cultural reference grounds the headquarters in its location without reducing it to surface decoration. The reception installation - a full Contessa, India's first luxury sedan, mounted as a sculptural focal point, establishes this register immediately. Meeting rooms carry super-graphics drawn from Indian street culture. Vibrant pastels and biophilic elements particular to the Gurgaon office extend it into the daily work environment. A neuro-inclusive base palette of soft greys and natural timber tones provides the register against which the vibrancy operates - stimulating without becoming exhausting.
