Situated in front of the iconic steps of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, this temporary welcome pavilion was designed for the MIPCOM festival, a major event that brings together professionals from the audiovisual industry. Conceived as a demountable structure, this XXL stand is rebuilt annually for the festival, offering a flexible and reusable solution for this high-profile gathering.
The pavilion is organized around a vegetated patio, with its design composed of four volumes stacked in pairs, connected by two wooden and Danpalit glazed structures. This arrangement creates plays of transparency and framed views of Cannes’ coastal architecture and its lush vegetation, blending seamlessly with the surroundings.
To meet the tight assembly deadlines and avoid on-site complications, the entire project was designed in 3D and prefabricated in advance. The structural elements were assembled on-site using simple screwing techniques, ensuring easy disassembly and reassembly for future events. Every detail was carefully planned to guarantee efficiency and precision, leaving nothing to chance.
This innovative and adaptable pavilion exemplifies how temporary architecture can combine functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability, all while celebrating the vibrant atmosphere of Cannes.
