TERASO is located in the Hakata Station area, a 5-minute walk from the Chikushi exit of JR Hakata Station, and is a twin building planned as an urban commercial facility for Seibu Gas. The six-step construction project will utilize the site where the former Hassenkaku main store was located and multiple adjacent sites, including demolition of the existing building, construction of a parking building, the first phase building (TERASO-I), and the second phase building (TERASO-II).
All steps have now been completed and TERASO, with a total floor area of 28,137m2, has been completed. It is connected to the first phase building (Hassenkaku Building) at the lower floors of the building (1st to 3rd basement floors), and the commercial facilities on each floor are integrated for easy circulation.
The rooftop plaza on the third floor of the connecting building is an open-air space with a large glass roof, creating a pocket park that can be used as a space for visitors to relax even on rainy days. The overall design of the twin buildings was based on the concept of ``Yin-Yang and Five Elements,'' with the first phase building covered in black Cor-ten steel that becomes more appealing as time passes, and the second phase building, in contrast, having a transparent and open structure.
