The Collection

Designed by Massimo Iosa Ghini and his studio.A micro-mall made out of a the well-known and world-wide prestigious car companies range, linked together in an indoor square.


Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, Jaguar, and Aston Martin, are shown through the right balance of the aesthetic and symbolic values of the various firms and the global Coporate Identity. A space of over 10.000 sq. metres in a department building with offices, various services and car parkings faced with details and interiors design in the style which made Iosa Ghini world-known.


"When I was asked to design a big complex for the sale of luxury and high-performance cars my response, as usual, was two fold.My first idea was that the impact of velocity, though sublimated into the immateriality of Internet, remains a fact to be translated into forms, almost sculptures. So I called on my friend Marcello Jori (with his “bodies objetting into space”) and Julian Schnabel (for “gestuality and pictorial vorticism”). They have created formal landmarks for the project, which I then amalgamated with forms intended to express quality and a modern concept of luxury.


The second was to design by epitomizing my desire for research with the will to do, to keep within the deadlines and conventions of building.

I wanted a design that would be marvellous, lyrical, state-of-the-art but also feasible. That’s why I love this project: I could describe it as a wonderful aquarium for Marinetti’s racers and roadsters to glide about in."
