The Gallery

Nearly 50 years after closing the former cinema at Zurich Löwenstrasse a pink carpet has been rolled out before number 40: The re-opening of the fashion store "The Gallery" enables to the visitors once more to experience a breath of the old charm of this cinema architecture in a modern multi brand store. Retailpartners has developed this design concept together with the principal, the Bollag-Guggenheim Fashion Group, for this new location in the centre of Zurich. The base floor including the facade of the unique building with its high rooms were previously restored by order of the owner.

"The Gallery" unites well-chosen brands under one roof. Besides, the presentation of the merchandise mix which orientates itself by the brand mix shapes the store design: The middle to upscale brands are presented on the one hand in aerial-light ingot hanging from the cover, on the other hand also in wall elements where a high merchandise presence can be built up, and the big choice becomes visible. The alteration of the merchandise presentation as for example medium space pieces of furniture of noble, white-grey marble, brass-coloured slope ingots and lounge elements give to the shop an individual character and emotionality which is also realised by the forms and colours as well. The attractive mixture also puts out the design draught where the tension curve reaches from the living cover with patina and structure, as for example with the open, painted cover and the homogeneous cast ground, up to the clear, feminine presentation with an emotional colour language in white, grey, rosé and various shadings of metal like copper and brass. Design trends like the revival of the 80s in the graphic area were realised with the empty, swivelling wall elements with diagonal lamellae or with the tectonic cover element. The Juice Bar, integrated into the store, also corresponds to the trend of the hybrid draught, of the “offering more; "The Gallery" is not only a fashion palace for urban, modern women, but with this gastronomic offer also a place to strengthen and to fill up with new forces. For a shopping experience that remains.
