Michael Franke

The Looking Glass House

The installation on the Via Brera was housed in the Sala Napolionica at the Accademia di Brera, and conceived as a presentation space for his first furniture collection 'Swell'.

The Looking Glass House was hand made in the United Kingdom in mirror polished Stainless Steel to reflect a sound induced matrix of ever changing coloured light.

"Swell was designed with the specific intent of stirring emotions. I wanted the collection to have a simple and immediate appeal. I believe design should be instinctive and individual - a direct response to the mass produced tyranny of good taste."
