The Network Kitchen is located in the beautifully designed residential tower Wibautveste on the Wibautstraat in Amsterdam. In the tower you find rental and owner-occupied apartments with a vibrant commercial plinth which locates a business center, a restaurant, a coffee bar and now also a cooking studio ‘The Network Kitchen’. TNK is an initiative to bring people / companies together so they can meet each other in an ‘away from the office’ atmosphere. TNK is formed by a network of members. Floor Wibaut, from Amsterdam, was the inspiration for the design of the cooking studio. As a timber dealer he traveled all over the world and visited New York many times. The oak cabinet outstretched along one of the walls and the brick wall on the other side are direct references to the major industrial wood processing properties of Wibaut and a link to the lofts of New York. The modern and very well equipped kitchen could easily be found in a New York loft.
