Tietê Apartment

SUMMARY:
Since this apartment was going to be rented out, we worked with a neutral color palette that also brought personality to the design. Additionally to being functional, the new layout and finishes should serve the various tastes and lifestyles of the future tenants.

BRIEFING:
The old plan from the 1970s should be adapted to the present. The kitchen should be integrated with the living room and have an interesting layout for having guests over. In addition, the cabinets should be well planned in order to serve different tenants, in addition to being attractive to visitors looking to rent the apartment. The materials should follow the same logic: elegant, yet functional and resistant.

CHALLENGES:
The biggest challenge of this project was to create a concept that, despite being neutral, was interesting and eye-catching. The apartment would be shown for rent without any furniture, so the millwork should attract the attention of potential renters.

SOLUTIONS:
The kitchen was integrated into the living room and part of the service area was used to expand the social area. We created an L shaped panel, which looks like a wooden cube, to house the cupboard, fridge and microwave niche and also a hidden access to the laundry room. The U-shaped counter in the kitchen organizes the entire work area, in addition to working a support for quick meals.

The powder room has a carved marble sink and black metals. The LED behind the mirror provides pleasant, diffused lighting. The apartment has three bedrooms: two share a bathroom and the main bedroom has an en suite bathroom. The three bedrooms have built-in closets with spaces designed for all types of clothing: pants, coats, long dresses, etc. Finally, in the couple's bathroom we also brought in black metals. We designed a bench in the shower and used a fixed glass panel instead of conventional doors.
