For his first restaurant, Idriss Mansour has entrusted Bureau Lacroix to convey his vision of a refined, authentic and welcoming environment for Tio, with the aim of raising the profile of Mexican street food through unique recipes. The idea was to create an immersive experience in order to feel like a trip to Tulum, with different ambiances.
Definitely optimizing space and light ! Tio has been conceived as a true destination, offering a series of different tasting experiences in a small space: the main room, inspired by the warmth of the sea, through which different lighting scenarios pass from lunch to dinner, offers a place to sit down to a shared meal surrounded by lush vegetation. The experience continues at the bar, open to the chef's kitchen for an authentic experience. Finally, the private dinner room, built for 5 people, add cosiness to the space, for a more intimate vibe.
The main room has a ceiling made of wood, straw and stretched fabric; the waxed concrete benches dialog with bespoke tables with subtle references to the brand's identity. The bar, covered in ceramics, is adorned with a huge concrete top. On the floor, the bricks vibrate with the energy of the haciendas and extend above the bar, leading to a second, more intimate and exclusive space, with a large woven hanging lamp, around which the space radiates, responding to the wood inlays and backlit brickwork.
