Triplet Code_Sangsu

"Triplet Code, Sangsu" is located in the back alley of Hongik University, where an alleyway is scheduled to be activated to turn the huge retaining wall in front of Hongik University's dormitory into an atelier. Recently, as young people gather from Hongdae to Sangsu-dong, various alleyway cultures are spreading rapidly as the seeds of new cultures.

At the same time, as building rents soar and commercially bustle, there is also a problem that facilities are indiscriminately replicated and listed.
The residence in Sangsu-dong is an area where old factories and business facilities are mixed between houses, and there was already an invisible cultural tension in the residence. However, as unique spaces where heterogeneous codes such as art ateliers, music studios, and cafes are fused from existing residential and old factory traces nest in every corner, they are transformed into unique art and cultural places, and unique genetic information is now being rearranged.

In Renaissance Italy, Palazzo architecture was popular as a mansion for wealthy people. The Palazzo building, which was constructed in the form of Rustification_rustification, which was roughly stacked with large stones to show a defensive character like a wall, created a vertical stacked structure of elevations that gradually changed the degree of roughness as it went up to the middle and high floors.

The appearance of changing the texture of layer-by-layer materials in three stages was an architectural form that showed the ostentatious dignity of Italy's prestigious family while defensively showing their own closed world from outside the city.
Contrary to the meaning of the family's residential style in the 15th century, which emphasized changes in building-level functions as defense and show-off in appearance, it was established as a neoclassical style in the 19th century that revived the classic appearance by emphasizing overall proportion and balance of architecture, which greatly influenced the atmosphere of the city until the early 20th century.

Rather than focusing on unique exterior design to give off individuality in the alley, it seemed necessary to reverse the closed stacking concept of Palazzo architecture up and down, open it toward the alley, and naturally combine vertically.

The lower floor is opened with transparent glass so that the building that is built higher than the narrow road has less sense of incompatibility around it, and the actions of passersby melt on the surface to project the unique atmosphere of the alleyway. If you walk a long time on the narrow and curved path, you may lose direction, so you need a space to stay for a while. The middle part of the two floors is white translucent glass mass, reflecting the elevation of various buildings located in the alleyway of Sangsu-dong, projecting the surrounding image and converting it into text. The volume that disappears by reflection makes the alley atmosphere deep and rhythmic. The upper volume of the dark iron plate finish is the owner's office that uses two floors as a double-story, and consists of a floor with a terrace opened by a folding door and a mezzanine meeting space layer.

Rather, the closed volume, like the Palazzo floor, is placed at the top, consists of a private work space independent of the place in contact with the sky, and a white-reflective glass volume is floated from the ground layer to present an open Palazzo format that seems exotic but does not fit awkwardly in a narrow alleyway.
