This project involves the rehabilitation of the Antigo Hospital Militar da Estrela, located on Rua de Santo António à Estrela in Lisbon, to house a new Integrated Continuing Care Unit (UCCI). Respecting the building’s historical and heritage value, the intervention combines modern technical solutions with a functional approach aimed at providing high-quality healthcare services.
The proposal refurbishes the existing structure, adapting it to contemporary requirements and promoting a balance between comfort, efficiency, and technology. With dedicated areas for medical services, inpatient care, and support spaces, the design organizes internal flows clearly, ensuring functionality and optimizing the experience for both users and professionals.
The intervention also includes significant improvements to the building’s thermal and acoustic performance, introducing insulation systems and high-quality finishes selected for durability and sustainability.
