Around 60 coloured concrete blocks in black and yellow adorn the forecourt of the University of Arts Linz on the Hauptplatz. Designed by Caramel Architekten, this gift from the University of Arts Linz to the people of Linz invites them to linger while strengthening the visibility of the educational institution in the urban realm.
Inspired by the temporary seating steps installed at the same location for “Linz 09”, also designed by Caramel, this new form of urban furniture aims to open up both the University of Arts Linz and the “splace am Hauptplatz” towards the square – and vice versa.
