Winning School Design Proposal (2023 - Hasht Behesht, Tehran)

Design Concept: The school is composed of administrative, educational, and recreational spaces. Based on this principle, the overall mass of the project was divided into three sections: educational spaces, administrative spaces, and common areas. The shared spaces, including the main staircase and hallways, extend into the administrative and educational areas.

The staircase is designed in a way to provide a distinctive atmosphere, adding a unique sense to the school environment. Iranian Architectural Identity: We aimed to maintain a simple volume while evoking the essence of Iranian architecture and a sense of vibrancy for the students. The movement of bricks around the entrance and staircase creates unique spaces for visitors, offering a different experience and instilling curiosity in students, making them feel as if they are in a non-ordinary school setting.

Economic Design: Considering the project is a public initiative with a limited budget, the design is intentionally minimal, simple, and creative to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness in construction. Brick has been chosen as the primary material for the façade. Functional Space Design: A glass connection between the two volumes ensures that the administrative staff can have proper oversight of the educational and shared spaces. Additionally, this layout establishes a seamless connection between the courtyard and the green spaces, providing students with a calm and inviting area to socialize.
