The Izu Peninsula is very warm and is a place with scenic beauty and is a popular resort. The flat is pentagon-shaped. Considering the relief of the land, the location of the trees, the sea and the view of the Omuroyama (Omuro mountain) way behind, it is planned to appreciate the most out of the given lure. From the old days, architecture had a center. By putting 5 columns in the middle of the space, I have created dinning area, which is the center of the house. The columns drops a hint of a sanctuary. It recalls the old days using fire at the center of a Pit house. The columns also creates a loft. You can see the ships going in and out, enjoy views of Izu Pennisula at this small cozy area - the loft - and it also helps the air circulation of the whole house. Considering the fact that the area encounters heavy wind and rain, the outside wall is roundly shaped, with sharp edge of the eaves. It is designed so that the rain water does not stay in the eaves. Door pockets are designed to lessen air resistance. The Doma (dirt floor) is made by the unearthed volcanic block of the site. The exterior wall has been carefully considered not to destroy the atmosphere of the landscape.

Once the architecture fits in nature, it loses its own color and becomes a part of the landscape.
