What was the brief?
Keeping the old atmosphere of a 70's house without compromising the functionality and comfort of a modern house.
What were the key challenges?
This particular house had a rather low ceiling, so we decided to curb it above the entrance hall, creating a new atrium, and above the living room, creating a library on a mezzanine, from where you can look out over the whole living area and the garden.
The windows are now larger, opening onto the garden, in a panoramic way, as well as upstairs, where a new floor is created from an unused attic. A new suite with master bedroom and private bathroom.
What materials did you choose and why?
The materials chosen are serene and respect the neutral colours, blending in with the wooden details.
