What was the brief?
When they purchased this 135m² apartment, recently delivered by the developer, the young couple turned to Brazilian architect Fernanda Campiolo, from Campiolo Arquitetura, for a functional and cozy design with a minimal amount of furniture.
What were the key challenges?
To improve the layout, the architect removed the wall that divided the living room and the kitchen, replacing it with a custom cabinet that opens to both spaces. The living room was also integrated into the balcony, where the dining area was relocated.
The private area is positioned in the middle of the apartment. Access is through doors camouflaged within the wooden panel — a standout feature of the project that, beyond its beauty, brings warmth and timelessness to the home.
Spacious and serene, the couple’s bedroom follows the same aesthetic and color palette as the social area — minimalist, with neutral tones ranging from gray, green, beige, and brown. The architect repositioned the bed to face the window, as the clients chose not to have a TV in the room. This change enhanced the harmony and lightness of the space.
What materials did you choose and why?
Porcelain tile was chosen for the social and service areas — a model that resembles gray terrazzo with larger speckles — while the intimate area features vinyl flooring for better thermal comfort. Both are elegant and pet-friendly options.
Some details deserve special attention, such as the green-painted ceiling at the apartment entrance, which marks the circulation between the three main zones (private, social, and service) and adds personality to the home. The custom TV wall panel is another clever solution, allowing better flow and cable organization with discreet built-in niches.
Another highlight is the Guatemala Green marble used on the powder room countertop — impossible to overlook. In this same space, Fernanda used a tensioned ceiling to enhance the lighting. In the kitchen and gourmet area, the chosen stone for the countertop was Taj Mahal Quartzite, known for its elegance and durability.
