House brings residents closer to the water, in a project signed by Stemmer Rodrigues
The residents' desire to live near water gave the house its name. The project, developed by Stemmer Rodrigues Arquitetura, brings this atmosphere to a residence of over 450 m². The unique volumetry is reflected in the water mirror that starts in the garden leading to the entrance of the house. Entering the plot from the side, the element joins the pool, allowing the water to surround the entire residence.
The volume is covered by a large panel of aluminum profiles with a wood finish, interrupted only by horizontal slabs of exposed concrete.

A walkway rises above the water mirror, taking visitors to the entrance door, which is mimicked in this panel. The residents felt it was important for the house to have privacy from the street and, at the same time, to overlook the city of Porto Alegre from the back.
Minimal intervention in the plot's contour lines was also a priority. To this end, the existing slope of the plot was taken advantage of, leaving the pool slightly overhanging the garden.

The biggest challenge was to hide the cars in a narrow plot. The solution was to create a diagonal translucent element that houses the garage.
For the interior design project, the layout of the integrated first floor brought functionality to the space. In it and in other areas of the home, a unique color palette, created especially for this project, features shades of grey and orange details, which are highlighted by indirect lighting elements.
