A pied-à-terre in the heart of West Village in New York City. The studio was transformed into a one-bedroom going through a full gut renovation; the space was stripped down to its bare bones and completely renovated from the ground up.
Everything in the space down to the raw framing was replaced, including: pipes and plumbing, electric, walls, floors, appliances and everything in-between. The layout was maximized by opening up the space - having four very distinct areas: living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom - generating a spectrum from the most public into the most private program. The result is a bright space that feels bigger than the actual size with substantial storage and quality of life.
