On a hillside on the outskirts of Barcelona, above the Garraf Natural Park, White Stone House rises as a white volume facing the sea. An 810 m² single-family residence, awarded Gold at the Houzee Awards 2024, where architecture frames the landscape and brings it into the home.
Architecture oriented towards the sea
The stepped configuration of the site opens every room towards the horizon. Large windows and terraces bring the sea into the interior. On the ground floor, the living room and kitchen extend onto a terrace sheltered by the cantilever, with an outdoor dining area, barbecue and fireplace. One level below, the infinity pool with jacuzzi faces the Mediterranean.
A sculptural GRC envelope
The sculptural form of the house shapes the outdoor spaces and provides solar protection. The façade is composed of large-format GRC panels designed specifically for the project and installed by Ubasart. The white surface reflects solar radiation and enhances natural light, while dark corrugated aluminium frames the openings. A lightweight, durable and long-lasting material requiring minimal maintenance.
A large central void
Entry is through a double-height foyer with a floating staircase connecting all levels and leading to the heart of the house: a central double-height space where the dining and living areas open onto the landscape. Herringbone parquet flooring, wood panelling and large-format ceramic pieces give each room its own character.
Integrated sustainability
The home incorporates solar panels for clean energy generation and a rainwater collection system for garden irrigation. The project was managed through a BIM model, coordinating structure, façade, installations and finishes with precision.
