Located on the site of the former Shanghai Xinmin Hotel, this mini complex project was redeveloped by Vanke as an urban renewal project. The building features an office tower of approximately 22,000 sqm, with a podium of 2,300 sqm and a 1,000 sqm library.
As a well-known real estate developer in China, Vanke has started the VK-Learning Center project since 2012. It aims to create community libraries in its projects to provide a place for owners to learn, communicate and interact, making learning an integral element of the community's culture. These library buildings' façade and interior design boast refreshingly aesthetics and have become a significant part of Vanke's real estate projects.
As a small commercial center project, the first and second floors of Vanke Xinmin Centre's podium on the east side are the library jointly built by Vanke and the local government. The façade of the Vanke Xinmin Library adopts LOPO's special-shaped terracotta panels and terracotta baguettes to create a layered façade of elegant simplicity. The terracotta facade's warm texture blends well with the glass curtain wall of the building tower, delivering a calm and pleasant visual experience.
