The unique Yarra stair must multi task between the most basic stair building principles, ultra-modern fixings, lavish styling and a rather bold placement within the space. But the stair takes all these considerations in it’s stride, morphing from practical elevator to central artery in the living room and kitchen areas. It allows the stairs to join seamlessly with the bedrooms above, reaching into the second story and funnelling the light downwards.
Only modern components are used in the design, which features Victorian Ash timber treads, suitable for the polished concrete floors and stone bench tops on the bottom level. Stainless steel handrail and glass balustrade compliment the style, which is made modern with the timber centre carriage and visible jigsaw profile.
