Prime PLC – turning architectural vision into reality

They benefit from a flexible design which allows for future adaptability while new technologies contribute to minimising maintenance.GP Partner at Hereford Medical Group, Dr Jonathan Duffett enthused, “This modern, fit-for-purpose, primary care building will be a huge benefit to Hereford. It provides us with the appropriate environment to deliver quality healthcare for decades to come…”Project Main Contractor, Speller Metcalfe, Regional Director Mark Hudgeon, “As a family business our approach has always been with people and communities in mind, and we are delighted that the centre is on track to deliver a wide variety of health and care provision for the residents of Hereford.”

Rockpanel super-realistic Woods external facades

Architect Abdulhaq Randera, of architectural practice One, was responsible for the design of the three storey centre. “The vision for the building and reason for using the Rockpanel Woods range was partly to tie into the history of the site, which was formerly a timber yard. Using actual timber presented a maintenance risk to the client so we sought an alternative. The Woods Collection, with its authentic looking wood grain, proved to the perfect solution for this project.”

The installation at Station Medical Centre incorporates a mixture of Oak surface designs using a randomised assembly of planks in a variety of lengths. Rockpanel Woods façade panels deliver an organic warmth thought only possible with natural wood, but with all the advantages of stone. These stone wool based ranges embody superior durability and fire resilience, are virtually maintenance-free and insensitive to moisture and temperature changes.

The installation and end results

It was installer Britannia Site Solutions first time working with us. Manging Director Mark Wallace talked about the process and results, “Installation went well. Key aspects were setting out the panels to maintain the joint and getting the fixing regime correct in terms of centres and edge distances. We received technical support from Rockpanel during the installation and a visit from their Area Manager John Porter. The main contractor, Speller Metcalfe, is pleased with the results as was the architect when we met with him on-site.Rockpanel’s John Porter, “This is a great healthcare sector project where our non-combustible. Woods Collection really paid off in terms of adding visual interest to the centre’s exterior and our custom design service helped create a truly unique future-proof building. These lightweight panels are easy to cut on site, saving time and money, but always in the knowledge that the completed system can satisfy the most stringent fire safety standards.”
