Atwater Inc. Studio Unveils The First Upscale Property In Downtown Moab, Utah: Hoodoo Moab, Curio Collection By Hilton

Hilton has opened a new 117-room hotel in Moab, Utah under its lifestyle brand, Curio Collection. Designed by Los Angles-based Atwater Inc. Studio, this is the first full-service, upscale property to open in downtown Moab, bringing a touch of luxe to one of the most sought after destinations in the American Southwest.

“Moab has always been a beautiful destination but never a luxury destination,” said Atwater Inc. Studio Founder and Creative Director Stina Funch. “The HooDoo allows travelers to balance the rugged outdoors with a pampered stay in an intimate atmosphere, where local flavors can be glimpsed from every corner”.

Only ten minutes from Arches National Park and a block from Main Street, Hoodoo Moab is an idyllic desert retreat. Akin to staying in a swanky metropolitan high-rise, the AAA 4-diamond hotel evokes a rustic elegance rarely seen off the beaten path. Awash in toffee, rust and golden hues, with an occasional pop of blackened desert varnish, modern luxury meets Western style. A dramatic, two-story lobby with a grand, modern staircase welcomes guests. Lacquered reception desks, in a smokey palette, serve as a focal point, combining earthy silhouettes with a sleek brass pendant lamp. Throughout, lantern lighting creates a romantic ambiance while emulating the area’s mining legacy. Cowboy-inspired decorative accessories capture the town’s pioneering spirit. Copper-toned textiles and metallic finishes and flooring, representative of the neolithic geological history, create an authentic experience that can only be felt at the hotel.

Oversized guest rooms and suites with semi-private entries, pull in the landscape. Suites feature large balconies that overlook the sandstone buttes, and generous bathrooms with rejuvenating soaking tubs. All rooms boast floor-to-ceiling windows that immerse you into the crimson cliffs while blending upscale amenities with natural ascetics and sophisticated decor.

The grounds are an outdoor oasis complete with year-round heated pool (the largest in Moab),  an outdoor jacuzzi, and organic rock formation gardens. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by T-Rex, a larger-than-life, wire-wrapped faux grass dinosaur; a whimsical nod to Moab’s prehistoric roots. For those who prefer the indoors, there’s a 24-hour fitness center and soon-to-be-opened full-service day spa.

An extension of the hotel, the on-site, Western-themed restaurant, Josie Wyatt’s Restaurant and Bar, serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and specialty cocktails, and has live music. A ballroom and state-of-the-art meeting rooms, with walls of windows facing the La Salle Mountains, and Dark Sky compliant chandelier lighting representing the sparkling stars, can accommodate up to 250 people.

The three-story, 130,000-sf horseshoe-shaped property opened at the end of 2019 after an extensive $73 million dollar investment.
