PEUMO house

The project is the renovation of a two-story single-family home on land overlooking Cerro Manquehue. The proposal works with 3 main concepts that aim to achieve a new image for the home through contrasts of materials and the geometric mismatch of volumes. Juan Durán Sierralta Juan Durán Sierralta Juan Durán Sierralta First, consolidate the existing image of the first floor as a masonry plinth, delivering a more stone and airtight image with controlled perforations. Casa Morera

Maria Aucejo   Marisa and Toni moved from Meliana to Massalfassar, around Horta Nord valencian region, 20 years ago, where they are still strangers today. Despite loving their house, they found it outdated for their lifestyle and decided to update it. Pol Masip   Pol Masip We propose a kitchen and living room connected by natural light and the possibility of maintaining a conversation between those who cook and those who lie on the sofa. The first strip of furniture accomodates what is needed in the dining room and the second strip hides the laundry room and what is needed in the kitchen. Petersfield House

Residential Renovation and Extension Previously extended in the 20th Century, Petersfield House has been hampered by a tight plan that failed to capitalise on its tall ceilings and views out on to its intimate garden. The centre of the building, in particular, was almost devoid of natural light, creating a dark route through the hall and stairwell with poor visual connections to the living spaces around. The proposal therefore centered around opening this central core of the house to the grand living room to the rear and new kitchen to the side. Full height apertures between rooms break down the traditional Victorian partitions, allowing a more connected plan suitable for modern living. Simone Bossi Removing the modern side extension... Sekforde Stretet

At the start of our work, particularly for listed properties as this one, we like to explore the history of the building and its context. This research often finds its way into how we approach our design and defining its character. The Modern House Typical of the period the area of Sekforde Street was filled with a rich mix of residential, commercial and industrial activity. The street was cut into the Medieval urban fabric by the Seckford Estate in the late 1820. The construction of houses did not start until the 1830’s and completed in early 1840s - just at the start of the Victorian period. The houses were mostly owned by skilled craftspeople in trades associated with printing and the making of books … as well as trade... Mais

Villa "K"

On a beautiful, panoramic, steep plot next to the forest in Budapest a three-storey family house built in the nineties became obsolete. Dávid Pásztor At the beginning of the nineties, large family houses grew like mushrooms in the newly parceled suburbs of Budapest. In thirty years, these areas have been transformed, the value of real estate has multiplied, while the hillsides became overbuilt and confusing. Our aim was to merge the building into the nature with its dark colours and natural materials compensating the chaotic suburban cityscape. Dávid Pásztor The family house with poor construction quality is worth a renovation. Transforming the existing building, minimizing construction waste are less... Mais

Saint Adrian House

Arched openings dominate Studio Jayga Architects’ British house extension

The young family of a 1930s semi-detached house in Loughton, Essex, wanted to open up the floorplan and add an extension for a new kitchen with a strong connection to the garden. Marcus Peel Studio Jayga Architects reconfigured the internal spaces and added a split-level extension clad with  shou-sugi-ban timber. Marcus Peel The split-level allowed the kitchen to be on the level with the slightly lower garden. A linear rooflight connects the existing house with the extension.   Marcus Peel A striking pair of arched metal doors combined with a frameless glass box floods the interior with natural daylight. The cantilevered box provides uninterrupted views into the 300 feet garden. Marcus Peel Studio Jayga Ar... Mais

Effra house

Reconfiguration and extension of a Victorian Terraced House in Brixton by Studioort. The scheme involves extending and opening-up the Ground floor, and also exploits local planning laws in Lambeth to add a spacious mansard roof to accommodate 2 additional bedrooms and en-suite bathroom.Typical victorian terraced houses often have a narrow hallway, which doesn’t allow for sufficient space to hang coats or take off your shoes, let alone to bring in a bike or pram. The archtects addressed this by moving a structural wall and adding storage, seating and a niche for a bike. Mais

Housing Building Lisbon
