Since the beginning of the 21st century, Chengdu, a city in Sichuan renowned for its relaxed atmosphere and youth culture, has witnessed a wave of commercial development together with growing purchasing power. At every corner of the CBD near Chunxi Road and Daci Temple, different kinds of consumer venues would spring up like bamboo shoots. Among these is the Atrium, a relatively small scale mixed-used complex opened in 2007. Despite its central location, its shopping mall has been outshined by the neighbouring Taikoo Li and Chengdu IFS. Like many other 10-year plus commercial properties in China, a total facelift would be an obvious solution.

Infinito Pocket Door
Infinito Pocket door is the innovative system that allows to apply diverse decorative finishes over the panel surfaces.
Thanks to an aluminium outer frame system which hosts the preselected coating, the variety of finishes that can be applied to the Infinito pocket door extends to any material with a maximum thickness of 3 mm and an overall weight below 70 kg.
Furthermore, the versatility of this product also offers the opportunity to apply different finishes on both sides of the leaf and to personalise the colour of the outer frame in matt lacquer, compatible with the coatings selected or anodised in 6 colours: silver, black, petroleum, dark brown, light and dark bronze. Harbin Opera House
MAD Architects unveils the completed Harbin Opera House, located in the Northern Chinese city of Harbin. In 2010, MAD won the international open competition for Harbin Cultural Island, a master plan for an opera house, a cultural center, and the surrounding wetland landscape along Harbin’s Songhua River. The sinuous opera house is the focal point of the Cultural Island, occupying a building area of approximately 850,000 square feet of the site’s 444 acres total area. It features a grand theater that can host over 1,600 patrons and a smaller theater to accommodate an intimate audience of 400.
