This apartment, a characteristic 1930's house in Amsterdam West, located in the De Baarsjes neighbourhood, has been renovated in a fully sustainable and responsible manner. The renovation focused on three main pillars: 1. Insulating the house and eliminating the use of gas.2. Using as many sustainable and healthy materials as possible.3. The apartment was designed for a couple in their seventies, who were looking for a place to rest on weekends and holidays, and to be close to the cultural and leisure centers upon their retirement. The "Central" apartment is located in a newly built residential building in the center of Ljubljana. The apartment itself, situated in an elite location with a view of the castle, served as inspiration for a unique interior design. The Prudent Apartment project was conceived for a family, a couple, and their two daughters. The original layout was completely redesigned to meet the couple's needs. Upon entering the apartment, you will be greeted by a spacious area that integrates: the kitchen, dining room, living room, and barbecue area, providing a sense of unity in the space. Imagine Village Apartments is designed with the community and environment in mind.  Los Angeles-based firm HC+RA, a collaborative studio endeavor comprising Hatch-Colasuonno Studio and Relativity Architects, created a LEED Gold affordable housing community of 76 mixed units to support veterans and low-income families in Lancaster, CA.  Integrated into the arid high-desert landscape, the affordable housing complex of four connected buildings also serves as an extension of an existing network of the adjacent adoption/foster center, support services, and community areas.  Utilizing the two-acre site, HC+RA achieved a balance of density and open space by programming multiple three-level buildings with varying resident and unit ty... The main task of the project was to preserve the original space of the main room of the apartment with large windows, therefore, all the main areas (living room, kitchen and bedrooms) are located along the windows and utility rooms and bathrooms are located along the blank wall. We wanted to preserve the light and volume of the room as much as possible, so the living room/kitchen was given the central part of the apartment with two windows, and the main bedroom with a third window is separated from the common area by a glass partition, which helps to preserve the feeling of a common space. The starting point of this interior design was to enlarge the living space and expand the dining area with a reflection niche while at the same time creating a connection with a sharply cut and long hallway leading to the more intimate parts of the apartment. We wanted to create a homely interior that is functional, beautiful as well as soothing and serves as a space for relaxation and recharging. The interior is filled with beautiful objects, sophisticated pieces of furniture and interesting works of art that were chosen in collaboration with Galerija Fotografija gallery.
