Located at Vienna’s Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof, AQ1 Althan Quartier Francis transforms a late twentieth-century railway station into a contemporary mixed-use urban district while retaining the architectural value and embodied carbon of the existing structure. The project by Delugan Meissl Associated Architects and Josef Weichenberger Architekten demonstrates how large-scale regeneration can prioritise adaptive reuse over demolition, balancing environmental responsibility with changing urban requirements. Total renovation and conversion of a 1960s concrete service building The public swimming pool Gartenbad Bachgraben was built in 1962 after plans by Otto and Walter Senn in collaboration with the engineer Heinz Hossdorf. The concrete buildings distributed across the site are exemplary of post-war modernism and are listed in the inventory of the Basel-Stadt monument preservation authorities. The service building directly next to the main entrance to the pool grounds had only been partially renovated since its construction and was in need of a complete refurbishment. The industrial site in Zwijnaarde near Ghent can be considered the birth place and physical home of the DOMO holding (now Dovesco). Here Domo Chemicals built its first and oldest factory: the poly tower. We propose to largely preserve it as a built testimony to the company’s history and achievements, yet we also want to update it to embody the ongoing transformation of a forwardlooking enterprise. Gallery House（MASAKI SUZUKI ARCHITECTS） "Gallery-like house" ​     This is a renovation of a 41-year-old steel-framed maisonette dwelling unit in the city. The 1st and 2nd floors are rental offices, and the 3rd and 4th floors are a residential unit. Before the renovation, the 3rd floor was used as a private lodging facility, but the owner changed, and the plan was changed to a new family plan for a couple and two children. It brings us great joy to help families stay in their traditional living spaces while significantly improving their living conditions through targeted interventions. A particularly good example of this is Apartment O, where we once again demonstrated that generous living doesn’t require a lot of square meters. The renovation of Kaunas Town Hall transforms one of the city's most historically significant buildings into a modern museum space, seamlessly integrating contemporary exhibition design with architectural heritage. Dating back to 1542, the building has undergone multiple renovations, with the latest major reconstruction occurring in 1973. DIA has renovated and converted the former Auerhahn brewery in Schlitz near Fulda (Hessen), giving it a new lease of life. The listed overall site with a floor space of 800 square metres is a testimony to past industrial architecture and had not been in use since 1998. The cultural centre that has been created offers a flexibly usable events hall on the ground floor, an exhibition space in the vaulted cellar and room for a tourism office and municipal marketing. Nestled between trees and hedges in the municipality of Horgen on Lake Zurich, the detached house from the 1970s provides an environment with plenty of privacy and recreational space: at around 200 square meters, the house is generously proportioned. The project for Raumtakt now consists of converting the single-family home into a two-family home. In the heart of the city, BEHF Architects were commissioned to transform former offices of the Erste Bank Group Headquarter into a stunning five-star hotel. Four separate historic buildings, which date back to different centuries, were carefully restored and interconnected from the inside. These houses are located in the pedestrian zone between St. Peter's Square, Tuchlauben and Graben. Biwak 12 is the conversion of a typical 1980s restaurant located in the mountain village of Moso, in the heart of the Sesto Dolomites, in South Tyrol.
