Ankh House

RD Apartment

In this 300m² apartment, home to a couple and their two dogs, the NJ+ created a cozy space filled with subtle details. Located in Vila Madalena, São Paulo, the project blends different wood tones with a vibrant green in the kitchen — the heart of the home. This striking hue, featured in both the cabinetry and countertop, transforms the space into a truly sensory experience. Denilson Machado In the social area, the open living room features a muxarabi portal in Cabreúva wood veneer that conceals a charming atelier. This space connects the concrete ceiling, bringing a lively and relaxed feel without compromising on sophistication. The Apolo dining table from Micasa, paired with the Tião chairs by Sergio R... PE Apartment

Located in the heart of São Paulo, this 140m² apartment was designed for a couple with two dogs and a cat, and features a unique aspect: it’s located on the ground floor. For this project, the NJ+ team worked carefully to integrate the indoor and outdoor spaces, ensuring that the connection with the street was not excessive while preserving a true “home” feeling. Following a european minimalist and clean aesthetic, a light color palette, the choice of wood and the rustic touch of concrete beams as part of decor, give the space personality. Bananeira Apartment

SUMMARY: Located in a 1970s building, the apartment had an outdated layout that didn't make sense for the future residents, Carolina, architect from Angá, and Pedro, furniture designer from Estúdio Pedro Luna. Additionally, the more classic style of the apartment, with dark wood floors and plaster ceilings, didn't reflect the couple's personalities and design style. The approach was a monolithic and colorful terracotta floor, white walls, and exposed slab. We sought a neutral base where furniture and decor pieces could stand out. Since the floor was a key point in the project, we aimed to showcase it as much as possible: furniture elevated from the ground and vegetation spread across the ceiling via metal shelves. Ma&i... 1 plus 1 Houses

The 1+1 Houses were designed as two distinct residences that share the same structural layout. In this project, the placement of concrete pillars and beams was fundamental in guiding the formal conception of the homes. The goal was to develop a design with an economical and unique structure, while also accommodating two different residences: a courtyard house and a house with a lateral setback. Although they are twin houses, the two residences were designed to embrace different possibilities. João Vitor Sarturi House 1 features an internal courtyard that divides the TV room, dining room, and kitchen while integrating them when opened. The aim was for this home to prioritize the intimacy of its residents. The social areas were d... More

3 Houses in Campeche

The 3 Houses in Campeche were designed to comfortably fit the narrow 4-meter-wide plots. The idea was to create homes that would allow future residents to freely appropriate the spaces, with flexible layouts that enable generous use of the rooms despite the limited width of the plots. Another key aspect of the design was ensuring sufficient lighting and ventilation for all houses. To achieve this, internal courtyards and cutouts with large glass planes were used to maximize contact with the exterior, ensuring good environmental comfort for the homes. Pequi

The project of the house “Pequi” derives from the desire to occupy a vast 50x50m flat plot of land in a cerrado region. The main challenge was to create permeability between the built space and the landscape in a harmonious relationship. The initial design was based on the interaction between the shape of the land and the built volume in contrast to the elements originating in the local nature, marked by the presence of pequizeiros, a native species of the cerrado characterized by its spreading crown, trunk and crooked branches with fissures and discontinuous ridges. Júlia Tótoli Júlia Tótoli The design operations consist of the interaction of pure volumes: two blocks offset in opposite dir... More

Oja Bar

Located in the heart of Brasilia, in the Mané Garricha stadium, Materea B studio's first participation in the Casacor Brasilia architecture exhibition invited them to develop a bar. The proposal, in addition to developing an architectural and interior design, is based on the concept of generating an ephemeral and intimate space, where the interpreters of the project (a large central stone island, a large wooden closet in the background, and carefully selected furniture design pieces) invite visitors to participate in a experience where people interact with cocktails, gastronomy, music and design.   At the end of the exhibit’s journey, access to the bar is through a corridor that prepares the visitor to enter an oval... Bosque House

More

Simão Álvares Apartment

In contrast to the demolitions that have been occurring in recent years in the Pinheiros neighborhood, São Paulo, the client, already captivated by the area, sought a building for their new home that would preserve local heritage, maintaining the ambiance of old buildings with spacious interiors, generous windows, and comfortable ceiling heights.
