Selva houses explore the possibility of reconciling everyday urban life with a more immediate experience of nature. Located in Alto de Pinheiros, one of São Paulo’s traditional garden neighborhoods, the project comprises eight detached houses conceived as individual dwellings immersed in a continuous landscape. The architecture is organized around the presence of vegetation, treated not as a backdrop but as an active part of the spatial experience.  Casa Jasmim was born from a genuine desire: that of a family with three children seeking an urban refuge that could unite warmth, togetherness, and functionality. The starting point was a sloping site with a four-meter drop and an extensive program including five suites. The challenge was to enhance the architecture by expanding spaces in a sensitive and coherent way. Residence on downhill site with a beautiful view of São Paulo was implanted in four floors in a way that floors were visually well integrated and compact. An double height ceiling on the recreation area at the bottom is the link with the social area of the ground floor. This area, glazed to the north face is protected from the northern sun for delicate metal grille, tieded up to the main structure with cables-stayed. A wide sliding door allows the interconnection of the whole area with the garage, also enabling the use of this social space. The W House aims to convey through its architecture the uniqueness of an intercultural family. With strong Chinese and Brazilian influences, the design respects ancient traditions while embracing their characteristics. On the façade, an imposing wall of rustic stones was built to ensure privacy for the residents. A Living House Inspired by the meaning of the Egyptian term per ankh, which can be translated as “house of life,” Casa Ankh aims to establish a coextension between body, environment, and everyday life. Located on a rural plot in the countryside of São Paulo, the house was conceived as a sensitive response to the surrounding natural context.
