Human scale and local materiality are at the core of the Woods Bagot-led designs for METRONET’s Morley-Ellenbrook line. METRONET’s Morley-Ellenbrook Line creates 21km of new track, connecting the northeastern suburbs and Perth CBD. Five new integrated station precincts link various places of character and landscape along the unique Perth Swan Coastal Plain. Located in one of the  Barcelona’s districts, this office building exemplifies contemporary architectural innovation while responding sensitively to its historic surroundings. Its height and massing respect the scale of the neighborhood, creating a dialogue between the district’s traditional character and modern interventions. The building establishes a visual identity distinct from the older structures, yet integrates seamlessly with nearby contemporary architecture. “De Bord en bord”, meaning “from edge to edge”, is an attempt to soften the hard infrastructural edges of injustice that have devasted Beauport’s wetlands and hindered the physical and socio-economic mobility of residents of Quebec City in accessing its natural resources. The project aims to reconnect the urban fabric of the city to its waterfront by reframing its divisive Dufferin Montmorency freeway as an ecological corridor and an urban common that allows its citizens to reclaim their right to the river. Within the contact zone of Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site we have designed a new steel pedestrian bridge that redefines its role beyond a simple crossing of the sea channel. Envisioned as a vibrant social hub and an architectural landmark, the bridge integrates seamlessly into its historical surroundings while establishing a distinct identity. t subtly references Trogir’s esteemed shipbuilding heritage and maritime spirit, reinforcing a deep connection between the city’s past and its evolving urban fabric. The city of Offenbach approached us with a request to design a bus stop at a prominent location that would stand out from other urban stops – we readily accepted. Our vision was to create a bus stop as a poetic gesture in the urban space, catering to the location, passersby, and waiting passengers alike. Instead of a conventional bus stop shelter with a fixed view of the road, we chose a design that harmoniously blends into the urban setting at Offenbach’s high street. Replacing the old, worn orange tent-like structure, we designed a sculpture in the public space that seamlessly integrates into the new plaza-like pedestrian area, linking the Frankfurter Straße shopping mile to the Offenbach Marktplatz. Our primary goal in the NEW YORK BRIDGE project was to answer the need for more open and green spaces in the compact living and working areas in Manhattan’s financial district and the world-famous Wall Street. To achieve this, we at Kalbod Design Studio designed a suspended bridge that connects the financial district of Manhattan with the green areas of New Jersey above the Huston River while creating a magnificent view of the Statue of Liberty on the North Atlantic Ocean. A design team led by VenhoevenCS architecture+urbanism - with Van Hattum en Blankevoort and DS Landscape architects - has created IJboulevard, a new underwater bike parking facility in the heart of Amsterdam. The innovative project makes a significant contribution to the city, transforming the area to create a unique experience for cyclists whilst providing new public space and improving the city’s infrastructure. The ‘Greenest Road of Brabant’ makes geographical connections and embodies the connection between infrastructure, the valuable landscape of forests and stream valleys, and the people with their interests. The renewal of the 8,5 km provincial road has increased the liveability and accessibility of the N69 and its border with Belgium. By constructing a high-quality road that is placed naturally in the landscape, the user experience has been optimized.
