Creation of an apartment in the rural section of a farmhouse in Praz-Pury The project involves the creation of an apartment in the partially disused rural part of a 1930s farmhouse. Fribourg farmhouses of that era housed both living quarters and farm functions under one roof. Swiss architecture studio BARD YERSIN architectes has completed the transformation of a nineteenth-century farmhouse in La Bruyère, Vuisternens-devant-Romont, Switzerland. The structure is typical of the region, where dwelling and agricultural functions are housed beneath a single roof. Willem Pab No longer used for agricultural purposes and located outside the building zone, the volume — considerable in scale — had become difficult to maintain in relation to the limited habitable surface permitted. Caronte is the restoration project of a farmhouse in the Salento countryside, completed by Margine in 2025. In the lands between Lecce and Vernole, surrounded by olive trees and just a few kilometers from the sea, stands Masseria Caronte, a rural home where sheep were once raised and wool and yarn were produced. Over the years, after numerous businesses and years of abandonment, the structure underwent a major renovation and conversion into a restaurant in 2024. This detached house, with 141.51 m² of roof area plus garage and swimming pool, is located in a unique landscape and environment in the province of Málaga, the Serranía de Ronda. Framed by the Sierra de Grazalema to the west and the Sierra de las Nieves to the southeast, the building unfolds, fragments, and rotates to create a perfect symbiosis between the surrounding world, the program of needs, and the interior atmosphere. At the foot of the Sciliar, in the picturesque area of Alpe di Siusi (Bolzano), the spirit of a barn is reborn as a home. The project, realised by noa* (network of architecture), has at its core, the South Tyrolean tradition combined with surprising features internally, resulting from design of visionary and unexpected spaces.
